Registered Nurse IC - Obstetrics

Premium Travel Locum Assignment
Location: Happy Valley- Goose Bay, NL
The primary purpose of this position is to work as an active member of the nursing team to provide a high standard of care to patients of the Labrador Health Centre. The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining professional and organizational standards and practice in accordance with the Labrador-Grenfell Health Model of Nursing Clinical Practice and reports to the Clinical Nurse Manager.
Qualifications:
" Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with a Nursing Diploma, or an approved University with a
Bachelor of Nursing;
" Current registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador;
" 2 years Acute care nursing experience within last 5 years;
" Obstetrical Education Program or willingness to complete (within timeframe designated by employer);
" Successful completion of NRP or willingness to complete (within timeframe designated by employer);
" Breastfeeding education/course;
" ACLS, TNCC and Medevac courses are considered an asset;
" Current certification in Basic Life Support (CPR);
" The successful applicant will be required to submit a satisfactory certificate of conduct;
" A return in service agreement may be required.
Duties: (Included but not limited to)
" Organizing, planning, implementing and evaluating the plan of care for assigned clients in collaboration with the client, family and multi-disciplinary team;
" Initiates and supports breastfeeding;
" Monitoring/care for clients during labor and delivery and post-natal;
" Participates in the auditing process as required;
" Documents as per professional and organizational standards;
" Administers medication and participates in Medication Reconciliation;
" Participates in the orientation, mentorship and preceptoring of staff;
" Represents nursing on various committees as required;
" Participates in quality assurance initiatives as requested/required;
" Practice independently according to professional and organizational standards;
" Acts as a liaison between the client and other healthcare providers;
" Other related duties as required.
Salary:
" NS - 31 of the RNUNL Salary Scales, $37.15 - $45.63 per hour with a premium locum rate of an additional $25/hr. for hours working in the locum position. Locums must agree to work a minimum of fourteen (14) continuous days for this benefit to apply. Other benefits in accordance with the RNUNL Collective Agreement.

Hours of Work:
" 75 hours biweekly, variable shifts, on-call required.
" Position is available from January 18, 2023 to June 18, 2023 (If you have availability for any time period {minimum two-week block} during this time period, please apply and disclose your availability)
