Temporary Call In
Location: St. Anthony

Reporting to the Manager of Environmental/Laundry Services and/or designate, the primary purpose of this position is to maintain clean, sanitary and safe environments in all Facilities or Accommodation areas operated (or rented) by Labrador Grenfell Health.

Qualifications:

" High School Graduation or equivalent
" Sufficient physical strength and conditioning to perform extensive and continuing janitorial/custodial tasks.
" Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions and to perform quality assurance reporting activities.
" Must have initiative and be able to work independently.
" Experience in janitorial work would be considered an asset
" Knowledge of the chemicals, cleaning practices, equipment and supplies used in the processes would be considered an asset
" A satisfactory Code of Conduct will be required


Duties: (Included but not limited to)

" Dry and wet mop floors; vacuum carpets; clean walls, furniture, fixed and selected non-fixed equipment as per daily, weekly and monthly schedules and as otherwise assigned;
" Operation of all equipment utilized within the department;
" Collect garbage as scheduled and as required;
" Cleaning/Disinfection of hard surfaces throughout the Facilities
" Cleaning/Disinfection of Client/Resident's rooms and other areas of facilities;
" Cleaning/Disinfection of Dirty Utility Room walls and floors;
" Ordering Housekeeping supplies;
" Other related duties as required.

Salary:

" CG-19 of the NAPE-HS salary scales $19.27 to $20.79 per hour.

Hours of Work:

" Variable shifts.
