Clinical Occupational Therapist III
Temporary Full Time (approx. 1 year)
Location: Happy Valley -Goose Bay

Reporting to the Regional Director of Inter-Professional Practice, the Clinical Occupational Therapist III is an advanced professional role overseeing the occupational therapy service within Labrador-Grenfell Health. This position will provide direct services and /or oversee the provision of services for all clients under the Home First Initiative. This position will ensure region-wide continuation, coordination, development and implementation of professional practice standards. The primary roles are clinician, facilitator, professional practice leader, coordinator, consultant and representative for occupational therapy services.


" Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent;
" Participates in the NLOTB Continued Competency Program;
" Minimum of 4 years of experience;
" Licensure with the Newfoundland and Labrdor Occupational Therapy Board (NLOTB);
" Certification with the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapy with a professional Designation of Occupational Therapist, OT(R) NL;
" Management experience within the last four years in a health care facility;
" Evidence of ongoing professional development;
" Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal, problem-solving and decision-making skills;
" The successful applicant will be required to submit a satisfactory certificate of conduct.

Duties and Responsibilities (include but not limited to):

" Provide occupational therapy expertise on the Regional Home First Network;
" Provide direct services to any clients under the Home First Initiative at Labrador Health Centre (LHC) and in the communities served by LHC and oversee the provision of these services in other parts of the region;
" Develop, implement and evaluate occupational therapy services;
" Provide the professional oversight and direction to all occupational therapy staff within the region;
" Assess, plan and provide treatment to referred clients;
" Maintain treatment records; compile patient and departmental reports; maintain monthly statistics;
" Develop and monitor programs;
" Assist with the recruitment and retention of staff;
" Monitor client access to services and wait times for services;
" Monitor staff workload/productivity;
" Develop and implement strategies to improve client flow and ensure maximum client outcomes;
" Develops, implements and communicates evidence-based policies, procedures, guidelines and protocols;
" Develop, implement and evaluate standards, education, orientation and mentorship programs;
" Travel is required (minimum two visits annually to CSCMH and LWHC);
" Performs other related duties as required.


" CG-46 of the NAPE-HP salary scales, $44.11 - $52.14 per hour, plus the applicable Labrador Allowance.

Hours of Work:

" 75 hours bi-weekly, Monday to Friday. Flexible work schedule and varying shifts may apply.
