The incumbent reports to the Program Supervisor and acts as part of the Intervention Services Team. The primary purposes of this position are: i) to provide intensive therapeutic assessment, counseling and supportive services to clients; and ii) to provide professional promotion, education and prevention programming within the organization and community. The incumbent will perform job duties within the context of the Intervention Services Team.
Qualifications:
" Masters Degree in Clinical or Educational Psychology
" Minimum 2 years in applied life-span developmental psychology, as well as assessment, diagnosis and treatment of developmental disabilities, psychosocial delays and mental health issues
" Use of private vehicle and willingness to travel
" Certificate of Conduct
" Eligibility for registration with the Newfoundland and Labrador Psychology Board
Duties (include but not limited to):
" Conducts screening, intake, diagnostic assessments, treatment planning and evaluation
" Plans and implements therapeutic interventions based on client needs
" Administers & interprets specialized test batteries to assess clients' presenting problems
" Modifies treatment programs and employs new approaches & techniques as clients progress
" As part of the Intervention Services Team, assists in the development of home programs to achieve overall therapeutic goals, and enlists the cooperation of other professionals working with the clients on a regular basis
" As part of the Intervention Services Team, assists in the development of behaviour modification and other treatment programs to be carried out by Intervention Services staff
" Prepares diagnostic reports and maintains notes on progress of clients receiving treatments
" Participates in multidisciplinary meetings with other professionals on the diagnosis/treatment of clients; gives feedback on programming & policy issues; and act as a resource for other professionals
" Conducts educational sessions for other professionals, staff and community groups
" Develops and maintains working relationships with community agencies
" Performs related work as required
Salary:
" CG-42 of the NAPE-HP pay scale $37.26 -$43.91 per hour plus the applicable Labrador Allowance
Hours of Work:
" 75 hours biweekly, flexible work schedule available
